The Lauwerszee – Your Unique Sailing Experience in the Wadden Sea

A sailing trip on the clipper Lauwerszee means experiencing the Wadden Sea up close. Thanks to her shallow draft and excellent sailing performance, this ship can reach almost every hidden corner of the Wadden Sea. Owners Aart and Nikki will take you to the hidden gems of the tidal flats: drying out on a sandbank or a deserted beach, anchoring under a sparkling starry sky, visiting the charming “Harbor of Sil,” or enjoying a scenic sail to Schiermonnikoog.

Perfect for groups who want to share something truly special, the Lauwerszee invites you to be enchanted by the vastness, the silence, and the pure beauty of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Thanks to Aart and Nikki’s dedication and approach, the ship is – in addition to regular groups – also ideal for school classes and youth groups who want to discover the Wadden Sea in an adventurous yet educational way.

Comfortable Sailing – Everything Within Reach

Cozy & Well Equipped

The Lauwerszee is an atmospheric and comfortable ship – fully equipped, yet preserving the authentic maritime charm of a traditional sailing vessel. The salon is spacious and bright, with comfortable seating, large skylights, and opening portholes. It’s the perfect place to relax together after an eventful day on the water.

Fully Equipped Kitchen

The open galley is generously designed and offers everything you need for communal cooking or culinary highlights: a six-burner Smeg stove, a large electric oven, three refrigerators, a dishwasher, and a professional Bravilor coffee machine (filters provided on board). A practical skylight provides fresh air – and also serves as a perfect pass-through to and from the deck.

Comfortable Sanitary Facilities

On board, you’ll find a large bathroom with shower, washbasin, toilet, and central heating. In addition, there is a second bathroom with shower, a separate changing room with space to hang clothes, as well as a washbasin with mirror and power outlet for razors or hairdryers (hairdryer provided). There’s also an extra separate toilet.

Atmospheric Cabins

The cozy cabins are furnished with bunk beds and comfortable mattresses – for a restful night after a day full of adventure. All beds are made up with duvets and bed linen. Each cabin has its own washbasin, mirror, and practical make-up mirror. Central heating ensures a pleasant temperature even on cooler days, and every cabin has an opening porthole for fresh air.
