Under the motto "Sailed once, always a sailor" Holland Sail was launched in the spring of 2009 with the goal of making sailing accessible to everyone and providing our guests with an unforgettable experience aboard our ships. Our fleet consists of over 30 well-maintained traditional sailing ships with various home ports, while our office is based in Enkhuizen.

The Holland Sail cooperative is made up of passionate shipowners who sail well-preserved flat-bottomed ships—including authentic tjalks, barges, and impressive clippers—on the Wadden Sea, the Markermeer, the IJsselmeer, and the Frisian Lakes. For many years, we have been organizing sailing trips for groups, families, and solo travelers with joy, expertise, and experience!

With years of sailing experience, they know all the intricacies of their craft. They not only share this knowledge with each other but also enthusiastically with their guests. While sailing on one of our ships, you will experience firsthand the passion of our skippers and the magic of sailing.

Sailing with Holland Sail means experiencing and enjoying. During your sailing trip, you can always rely on the skipper and their crew. We strive to create an open and relaxed atmosphere on board. This quickly leads to a harmonious collaboration between the skipper, the crew, and you as our guest. If you’d like to participate, our experienced sailors will provide you with clear instructions.

The board of Holland Sail

The Holland Sail cooperative is led by a board that steers the course. It consists of several cooperative members, shipowners, and an external chairman. Our board is tasked with operating within the budget approved by our members and reporting to them in the General Members' Assembly (GMA). Additionally, board members oversee the booking office.
