The Grote Jager was built in 1893 in Waspik, at the renowned Ruijtenberg shipyard, as a sailing cargo vessel. For 90 years, the ship carried freight across the Netherlands, Germany, and Denmark. In 1983, it was converted into a sailing passenger ship.
Lovingly restored with great attention to detail, the Grote Jager combines nostalgia with comfort. On deck, the spacious cockpit offers plenty of room for everyone. With space for 26 guests, a cozy salon, comfortable cabins, and a well-equipped galley, the Grote Jager has everything you need.
As soon as the lines are cast off, your adventure begins. Hoist the sails, set the course, sail together with the ship – or simply relax and enjoy the tranquility on the water. Everything is possible, nothing is mandatory.
Safety always comes first. That’s why skipper Kars Petri takes great care in explaining the rigging, halyards, and sheets. Together with the mate, he ensures that you quickly feel at home on board. No sailing experience is required to actively join in.
