Growing up on board, among ropes and lines, the rhythm of the sea became the rhythm of his life early on.

For Wamme van der Kuip, life on the water didn't start with a career change or a spontaneous whim, but with a cradle that gently rocked with the swell. "Sailing is literally in our blood. My parents were already sailing their charter ship, the Zorgwaard, in the '70s. So for me, it didn't feel like a choice, but a continuation of something that had always flowed through me."

Living with the Elements

"Sailing a ship is a very good metaphor for many things in life. Through sailing, you can gain wisdom." Wamme finds satisfaction in the interplay with the elements. The wind, the current, the light—they aren't just conditions, but partners in the moment. And this is exactly how he guides his guests: not against nature, but with it. "I move with what the day brings and let my guests experience how special that is. My guests often say that I'm flexible and that I really listen. I think that's one of the best compliments you can get."

Creating a Ship

Besides being a skipper, Wamme is also a creator. His ship isn't just a random vessel, but a place where his creativity is visible and tangible. From the layout to the atmosphere, from the deck to the cabins—everything bears his signature. "I can put a lot of myself into my ship. That gives me satisfaction."

The ship is spacious, with a beautiful wooden deck, and is comfortably furnished with only double cabins. Everything is wrapped in what Wamme calls: "a contemporary lounge vibe."
